Voyageur Park Lodge

“Overall enjoyed the quietness of the place and small family business, but if someone rents the suite above, you can hear their steps and chairs. We were downstairs in their new lodge room, but I would have liked a key to lock the room and maybe a foldable table since a foldable chair was provided and it was hard to eat in bed. The shower curtains didn't do a good job keeping water out of the shower so I would recommend at least a floor mat as the floor would bubble over time from water damage. No issues with other amenities: bed, central air, satellite tv, fridge and microwave. Didn't use the coffee maker since we didn't bring any coffee and there's some shops nearby for that!”

“Spent 4th of July week here...absolutely wonderful. The owner is incredibly helpful...answered all of our questions promptly in the weeks leading up to our stay. He was always on grounds if you needed anything. The resort's boat we had reserved broke the week before we arrived and was not able to be fixed in time for us to use. Casey went out of his way to get us boat from another vendor which wasn't easy on short notice during a busy holiday week. Joe, the dock hand, is a super personable young man. He spent a lot of time chatting with our boys and giving them tips on the best fishing spots. They didn't catch much the first couple days and would come in off the boat a tad discouraged. Joe kept pumping them up to try again and was there to fillet their catch when they finally got a nice pike. He was the greatest! The property is beautiful, private...you hardly realize there are others staying there with you. Our cabin was the Norseman. It was clean, spacious for our family of 5, nicely stocked kitchen, great outdoor area for yard games, fire pit, etc. The lake is beautiful, fishing and swimming were great, and we never felt crowded by other boats. Bonus...the island right across the cove has a rope swing into the water that is loads of fun...easy to paddleboard/canoe over from the property and enjoy. The property is great location to other destinations in the park...easy drive to the different Voyageur Park visitor's centers, fairly short boat ride to the Ellsworth Rock Gardens, etc. We are already talking about coming up in the fall sometime.”

“My husband and I rented Tall Pines cabin for the week of Sept.25-Oct.2. The cabin was so cozy! The cabins are all spread out away from each other so there is so much privacy! So quiet and wonderful to sit out on the deck and take in the beautiful scenery! The weather was perfect! Casey and his helper Tony where always available to take our questions and give us information. We used the canoe to travel the islands around there and hiked the many trails of VNP. Casey set us up with a water taxi, Larry, who took us to Ellsworth Rock Gardens to view the sculptures and showed us many Islands on Kabetogama Lake. Thank You Casey and Tony for a wonderful experience! Have a great Ice fishing winter!!!”

“Photos and review specific to the Tall Pines Cabin: The attached photos are what I would have liked to have prior to going so that I'd know what to bring. There is a microwave and toaster, while both are smaller than anything I’ve ever seen, they do work fine. I wish I would have brought two floor lamps with bright bulbs. Except in the morning when the sun was shining in, it was typically too dark to cook. This cabin is next to the boat launch, so you get to see what’s going on. Note that for the week we were there, that specific pair of docks did not yield any fish for anyone we saw, while the lake as a whole is excellent fishing if you have a fish finder and a topographical map. The shower is 3’x3’, but my daughter still managed to slip and get hurt twice, so bring a shower mat. Take note that no one use the toaster with the window curtains laying on top of it, and similarly make sure to move the grill away from the railing before using it. Bring your own can opener and bring your own favorite pot and favorite pan. Using disposable plates, cups, and cutlery is wise. Garbage can in front of the cabin is emptied each day. As a matter of culture, it seems common for large groups/families to rent multiple buildings at a time, and it seems many of these large groups return every year to the same area. The hosts were super helpful if we asked for anything, and they often volunteered help. I liked that any fishing gear we could want was available and would just be added to our tab at the end. Canoes were always available, while renting the speed boats were spoken for already; you can still rent from others in the area too. There are two grocery stores nearby and their prices are okay, so you don't need to bring much food with you.”

“Fun place to say. It’s certainly not the nicest accommodations you’ll ever have, but it was a nice mixture of rustic/cabin but still having space. The cabins are all different quality from what I could tell. Even though the cabins are spaced sort of close together, it still felt private enough. The water was great here, and we saw otters right outside of our cabin which was really cool. We are not fisherman, which many of the guests seemed to be, but this was still a good spot for us for kayaking, swimming, and taking the boat across the lake to a hiking trail. You can tell that the carpet and shower were old in our cabin because of some wear and discoloration, but even though they didn’t LOOK the greatest, I felt comfortable that they were clean.”

“I stayed here for the week of 4th of July and had such a great time. Really nice lodge and the cabin we were in was very comfy. We didn't spend much time there since we tried to fish anytime we could but it was definitely nice. There was a guy who helps at the dock his name is Joe. He was amazing. Always there to help and he takes his job seriously. He has a good head on his shoulders. I highly recommend this place! The Scally family”

“We stayed at VPL for fishing opener 2025, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Bait onsite, nice fish cleaning shack, boat rental, updated cabin, amazing views -and fish in the livewell! Casey was a great host -he was available if you needed anything and the entire property is set up with guest needs in mind. We'll likely take the family back for another visit this Summer.”

“My wife and I stayed in the Spruce Tree one bedroom cabin last September. What surprised me was the layout of the resort. All cabins were very private and made for a great getaway. The overlook and view from our cabin was one of the nicest we have ever seen at a resort. We will be back for sure. We also had a chance to tour other resorts in the area and found nothing that compared to this resort property. If your headed to the national park I would recommend Voyageur Park Lodge. Also the folks running the place were great!”
